Wicket
Abstract
Apache Wicket is the framework that makes developing web apps enjoyable again.
Wicket uses a Swing-like component model. Pages and components are real Java objects that support true Object-Oriented development: Wicket components are truly encapsulated and reusable.
Wicket is "pure java and pure HTML" no mixing of markup with Java code.
The wicket mailing list is one of the most active of all Apache projects.
During this session, you will learn why Wicket is becoming so popular.
The following topics will be discussed (with lots of code samples):
- components
- models
- forms: conversion, validation, feedback messages
- markup inheritance
- panels
- behaviors: Attribute modifiers, Ajax behaviors, ...
- I18N
- Spring/Guice integration
